Virtual production is undergoing a profound transformation, fueled by rapid advances in artificial intelligence. What was once a highly specialized field is quickly becoming a core component of contemporary production workflows. Yet the true catalyst of this shift is not the technology alone but how innovation is developed, tested, and ultimately shared across the industry.

This session focuses on two key drivers: the role of R&D and experimentation, and the importance of technology communication. Innovation in virtual production emerges through continuous testing, prototyping, and iteration to create the foundation for new workflows and creative possibilities.

At the same time, these advancements only reach their full potential if they are effectively communicated to creatives such as directors, DOPs, and production companies. Bridging the gap between technology and creative application is essential to making AI-driven tools truly usable.

Bringing together perspectives from tech and production, this session explores how innovation can move from experimentation into real-world creative impact.
