Mirko Lempert works at the intersection of new technologies and traditional film production. His work focuses on combining creative storytelling with innovative digital tools. In production design in particular, he develops approaches for utilizing interactive real-time simulations, digitally prototyping film sets, and making spatial concepts visually tangible at an early stage.

As a co-founder of the Monocular studio, Mirko Lempert develops workflows that integrate generative artificial intelligence into concept development and set planning. Through the research project “Artists and Machine Intelligence,” he explores the potential of AI image generators for the visual development phase. In this context, he views AI as a tool for visualizing and refining creative visions, as well as for purposefully enhancing traditional narrative forms
