Johannes Lackner is a Swiss-Italian screenwriter with 30+ years in German TV. After starting as writer on set and story editor at Columbia Tristar and Bavaria Film, he has worked freelance since 1999, writing for series including DER LETZTE ZEUGE, EIN FALL FÜR ZWEI and DER ALTE. He created FAMILIE UNDERCOVER, was head writer on Season 5 of DER LETZTE BULLE (German Television Award nomination, 2014), and later created the ZDFneo series DECISION GAME.

Based in Geneva since 2003, he took an early interest in LLMs and helped train a German-language model in 2019, swiftly forgotten when GPT-2 arrived. In 2023 he founded Decamerone GmbH to explore how AI can support writers' rooms and TV productions. It's a field shaped by a peculiar contradiction: AI rushes to defuse conflict, while fiction needs it like oxygen. That tension both annoys and fascinates him, driving his work at the intersection of narrative and technology.
